This fan-made Kingdom Hearts remake trailer put together using Kingdom Hearts 3 assets and mods will have you wishing that Square Enix would make the real thing.
Considering how popular gaming remakes are as of late, there's one series that's surprisingly avoided them so far - Kingdom Hearts. Sure, it's had ReMixes and Stories So Far, but it's not had a full remake yet. Square Enix might seemingly be reluctant to redo the first adventure, but that hasn't stopped a Kingdom Hearts fan from imagining what that might look like.

The fan-made trailer comes from Kingdom Hearts YouTuber The Gamers Joint, who imagines a remake of the first game being announced for the game's 30th anniversary, nine years from now. The trailer starts by showing several shots of Destiny Island from Kingdom Hearts 3's Data Greeting photo mode, before showing Sora adventuring through recreated versions of maps from the original game, including Traverse Town (which we've previously covered), Deep Jungle, Olympus Coliseum, and Wonderland.
The trailer also shows some brief shots of gameplay, which has again been made using a modded version of Kingdom Hearts 3, which is evident in the graphics and in Sora's much floatier combat. There are some pretty neat details, though, like Sora using several of his moves from the first game, having his original HUD icon, and even using the Guardian Shield. Must be a Proud run.
As another cute detail, the second half of the trailer features the game's opening quotes and voiceovers from a few characters in an attempt to mimic the Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers and their habit of being gameplay for the first half, and then a big story dump in the second.
