Bungie posted a clarification of its plans for Destiny 2 chat improvements following an influx of fan inquiries. Its latest comments on the matter arrived mere hours after the developer officially announced Destiny 2: Lightfall Seasons 20 and 21.
Despite pushing six, Destiny 2 is still going strong, boasting hundreds of thousands of monthly active players across its combined platforms. The seventh major expansion for the hit online shooter, Lightfall, will be releasing on PC and the last two console generations in late February. Last year's expansion already underlined Destiny 2's lasting impact a million times over, and while it remains to be seen whether Bungie will disclose its DLC pre-order figures this time around, there's little doubt that Lightfall will usher in another massive player spike.

In the meantime, the developer took to social media to clarify that the communications improvements it announced alongside the next pair of D2 seasons aren't the only such additions to the game that are currently in the pipeline. But while «additional chat support» is hence part of Bungie's overall roadmap for Destiny 2, the company isn't ready to commit to a specific timeframe for those features just yet.
The ex-Microsoft studio pledged to «invest in the overall chattiness» of Destiny 2 as part of its February 13 announcement.
