Destiny 2 Brings In Keith David To Play Commander Zavala, Vows To 'Continue The Great Work' Of The Late Lance Reddick
Destiny 2 fans have been wondering who would be stepping into the role of a central character in its franchise following the untimely passing of its actor. Yesterday, Bungie answered that question, announcing Keith David as taking over the role of Commander Zavala following the death of Lance Reddick.
Reddick passed away tragically in March, and since then, there has been the lingering question of how the character would be handled in the series moving forward. As a central character, Zavala helps drive forward the elaborate plot of Destiny 2.
Now we know, asBungie announced, that actor Keith David would be taking on the role, while keeping all of the previous work done by Reddick intact in game.

The passion and professionalism Lance brought to the role over the last decade was unmistakable and loved by all. Commander Zavala has been central to the story we have been telling since the original Destiny, and we have plans to continue his journey. „
Keith David, a prolific actor on the stage and in television, film, and games, will assume the English language voice of Zavala in The Final Shape and beyond. Separately, Lance’s existing lines in-game will remain untouched for the upcoming release. “
Separately, David took to Twitter to talk about the role and what he plans to bring to it, stating that he would „continue the great work“ done by Reddick thus far.
