12th Gen Intel processors have been around for a while and are now reaching the markets, albeit in exotic PCs and laptops. Dell’s high-end Alienware lineup gets the first taste of the 12th Gen Intel processors. The laptops were unveiled earlier this year at the CES 2022 event and also come with NVIDIA’s RTX 30 series GPUs. Other than that, there are some other key upgrades that could entice the gaming community, especially those who want to have a mighty gaming laptop with no compromises.
Before we look at the specs, here are the prices. The Alienware X15 R2 starts at a price of Rs. 2,49,990, whereas the bigger Alienware X17 R2 starts at a price of Rs. 2,99,990. These laptops will be available for purchase across Dell Exclusive Stores, Dell.com, large format retail, and multi-brand outlets. Dell is yet to bring any of its Alienware models running on the AMD Risen 6000 series processors.
The Alienware x15 R2 is the smaller 15-inch model, offering a 15.6-inch display that gives you the option to choose up to QHD 240Hz display with Nvidia G-Sync. As highlighted earlier, the laptop gets up to 12th Gen Intel processors, with the highest option being the Core i9-12900H processor. This comes paired with Intel Iris Xe onboard graphics, option of choosing up to NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti GPU with 16GB GDDR6 VRAM, and up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 2TB of M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage.
The x15 R2 gets USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with PowerShare, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, a Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, a Universal Audio Jack, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a power adapter port.
