While there are few heroes Deadpool actually respects, a new preview for Marvel Comics' Dark Ages reveals one such hero whose passing manages to sober Wade Wilson up (a rare occurrence.) Following a major battle on the high seas, the surviving heroes of Dark Ages post-apocalypse suffered losses in their attempt to save their kidnapped friends from Apocalypse. While Deadpool was there to greet them as a welcoming committee, this new preview shows that a significant memorial for none other than Nick Fury needs to be had first.
Marvel's Dark Ages depicts a Marvel Universe that lost all electricity thanks to an ongoing, planet-wide EMP that was used to shut down an entity known as the Unmaker who would have ended the world. However, rather than the world erupting into chaos with the subsequent breakdown of society, Marvel's superhero community saw the chance for a fresh start. The majority of the world was united with Wakanda as a new world capital and a utopia was created when everything pointed to the world becoming a dark dystopia. However, Apocalypse has formed his own holdout group of villains and heroes, corrupted using the powers of the Purple Man, and intends to wake the Unmaker to take its power for himself. As such, a rescue mission has been launched, with several heroes sailing across the sea to save their kidnapped friends and stop the supervillain.

Unfortunately, in Dark Ages #4 the heroes' floating helicarrier was attacked by the marauding Ghost Raiders, resulting in the death of Nick Fury. Now, the new preview for Dark Ages #5 from Tom Taylor and Iban Coello sees even Deadpool taking things seriously
