One developer of Steam indie game Domina is coming under fire for including anti-masking rhetoric in the game's latest patch notes, causing controversy among many of its players. The title originally launched on Steam in 2017, but has seen regular updates and game fixes since release.
Domina is a gladiator game where players manage and control pixel characters as they battle through ancient Rome. Like other simulation and management-style games, the focus of Domina is more on managing a player's crew of gladiators rather than the battle itself. The player can recruit new fighters to their team, train them up to make their fighters stronger, and acquire other personnel to help aid the quest to create the ultimate fighting crew. There are also some morality choices for game players, as they can make political deals that can improve their reputation and fame. Once the player creates their crew, they can watch these simulated battles between some of their prized fighters and those of other groups.
