Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone are welcoming the big new Season 2 Reloaded launch tomorrow, March 23, and ahead of that, an update for Vanguard that adds new content is out now.
This is a significant update. It introduces a new mode, Arms Race, which is set on the massive new map, Alps, as well as additional vehicles in the form of the motorcycle, the CD12 transport, and the tank. The update also introduces a new Operator, Gustavo dos Santos, as well as the Armaguerra 43 SMG. Outside of those updates, the Season 2 Reloaded update adds a new Top 250 skill division and leaderboard for ranked play, as well as additional ranked play rewards.
For Zombies, the Season 2 Reloaded update adds new Covenants, the ability to pause on dedicated servers, and a number of other quality-of-life improvements, among other things.
Another big change is a weapon balance pass for snipers. The Type 99 now has faster ADS times and less sway to help players quickscope better. The 3-Line Rifle has seen its flinch decreased to help players stay accurate under fire. And the Kar98K has seen its ADS time decreased to help with quickscoping.
Also of note, Treyarch has reacted to feedback surrounding Vanguard's aim assist system, and specifically how some said it was not functioning as intended. The studio now says it believes it has fixed the bug causing aim assist to «intermittently deactivate» in some scenarios.
«Please note that although we have tested this fix extensively with our team, the real test is in the live game environment with all of you. Please let us know if you are still encountering problems with aim assist while playing Vanguard,» Treyarch said.
