Dead Rising hasn’t had a major release since 2016, so it might be time to bring it back from the dead. Capcom has had quite the roll with Resident Evil remakes, and it looks like this studio is interested in tapping back into another undead franchise of theirs. According to one industry insider, we might see the IP get a big revamp and another attempt to hit players worldwide on the latest generation of console platforms. Of course, since this is just from an industry insider, we’ll have to wait for the official word to come out before we can take this report as anything more than a rumor.
The news came from industry insider Jez Corden. On a Twitter thread going over the news of a Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake potentially being featured in an upcoming PlayStation showcase, Dead Rising came up. One Twitter user noted that they were pushed to Xbox for the Dead Rising franchise. That’s when Jez noted that Dead Rising might be coming up on the horizon. Jez went on to say that he heard it was a reboot but that it’s just something he has heard right now. Unfortunately, the industry insider doesn’t have anything else to make the news a little more concrete.
