The much-anticipated Sadako Rising expansion for Dead by Daylight has finally arrived, bringing with it some new, horror-themed content. Fans of the asymmetrical multiplayer game have been looking forward to the release of this new chapter for a while now, especially after an early version of it was shown to terrify Dead by Daylight streamers.
Dead by Daylight is a horror experience through and through, and the regular updates issued for the game tend to reflect that. In Dead by Daylight, players are split up into two teams: the majority of players will assume the roles of the Survivors, while one player fills the shoes of the Killer. Each match consists of the Killer hunting down, chasing, and sacrificing each Survivor while they attempt to evade their fates. The options available to Survivors are somewhat limited, but those playing as the Killer can choose from a large roster of terrifying monsters and murders, many of whom are iconic villains from cinema and gaming history. Characters such as Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, and Leatherface have all been added to the game. Despite rumors of a Dead by Daylight dating sim, the game remains firmly planted in the horror genre.

The frightfulness of this cult-favorite game continues to expand with the addition of the Sadako Rising chapter, which is inspired by the Ringu film series.
