After years of being in the background, DC's Amazon queen,Nubia, is finally getting the spotlight she deserves. Her reign will not only continue, it'll also be made official, in the upcoming Nubia: Coronation Special #1. This spring, the heroine takes center stage following the conclusion of the Trial of the Amazons event.
Nubia has been the queen of Themyscira since Diana's death resulted in Hippolyta taking over her spot as Wonder Woman within the Justice League. Her reign has come with numerous challenges, but she has risen to meet them. She has been tested by new threats, classic foes, and soon, the Trial of the Amazonswill have her facing a murder mystery. However, despite this, her reign is said to continue thanks to some news from DC about her upcoming special.

After decades of differing roles and history within comics, GamesRadar has revealed that Nubia's origins will be revealed. This May, DC will be publishing Nubia: Coronation Special #1. This one-shot has the creative team of Stephanie Williams, Vita Ayala, Marguerite Sauvage, Darryl Banks, Jill Thompson, Alitha Martinez, Nikolas Draper-Ivey, Becky Cloonan, and other creators. Williams and Ayala have recently been writing the Amazon queen's titular series, Nubia and the Amazons. Check out the four revealed covers for the special here (the fifth has not yet been released):
