DC Studios Boss Reveals Plans to Expand Arkham Universe Beyond Suicide Squad
DC Studios plans on expanding the Arkham-based titles since the firm revealed plans to release more games beyond Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
For those unaware, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release just a few months from now and is based in the same universe as the acclaimed Batman: Arkham games made by Rocksteady. The information was revealed in a now-deleted post at Threads (via DCU World), with co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn teasing fans to expect more titles in the Arkham universe going forward. This is what he had to say when asked about whether Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be the last title to come set in the Arkham universe:

Of course, there's no telling how long that would be. After all, Warner Bros. Interactive developers are some of the slowest in the industry. This also contradicts Gunn's previous statement that the upcoming DCU (due to begin with the theatrical release of Superman: Legacy on July 11, 2025) he's fashioning with Peter Safran would include games as well as movies and TV shows.
Let's take a quick recap on what to expect with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League since this will be the first Arkham game in nearly nine years. In the most recent leak, fans learned of the possibility of seeing several characters added post-launch, such as Killer Frost, Deathstroke, and the Penguin. Moreover, Rocksteady confirmed that the game will be patched to be playable entirely offline. However, the update only has a generic 2024 window, with more details to follow post-launch.
