The Change.org petition for Days Gone 2 could soon reach a whopping 150,000 supporters, proving that fans of the original have yet to give up hope for a sequel. Days Gone 2's fan-made petition hit the ground running in April 2021, managing to garner over 35,000 signatures within just a week of its launch. Such support for a hopeful follow-up entry took shape after a Bloomberg report outed Sony's rejection of a Days Gone sequel pitch by developer Bend Studio.
A Pacific Northwest-set apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone follows biker Deacon St. John, portrayed by Sam Witwer, as he attempts to unlock the mystery behind his wife's fate after a widespread zombie-like outbreak. The open-world title received middling review scores at launch, due in no small part to myraid technical issues that beset the experience. Still, fans hoped it would receive a second chance; this hope died last year when Sony began teasing Bend Studio's new non-Days Gone game. But the passion for a new Deacon-starring adventure lives on, especially in the wake of claims about the first title allegedly performing as well as Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima, which will likely receive a follow-up.

Days Gone 2's petition on Change.org topped 100,000 signatures in May 2021 and is now closing in on yet another noteworthy milestone. At the time of writing, nearly 145,000 people have signed the petition; as such, the new goal of 150,000 supporters now seems within arm's reach.
