With some iconic faces and tracks based on beloved properties, Disney Speedstorm is very likely to swoop in this Summer and become a go-to family game-night favorite.

With the game being developed by Gameloft, mostly known for their work on mobile titles, those watching the Direct may have been a little hesitant to give the game any real attention. However, with the announcement that the game is going to be free-to-play, Disney Speedstorm has certainly become one to keep an eye on. Gameloft's previous work on the Asphalt series of mobile racing games, which are also available on Switch, should be a good indicator of this game's quality. Though these games are a little barebones, the visuals and gameplay are solid enough, especially for a free-to-play title.
Switch owners are much more likely to give a Disney cart racer a chance if they don't have to drop any cash. Hopefully, Disney Speedstorm's gameplay will be able to keep those players interested after the initial allure has worn off.
