A new Unearthed Arcana article for Dungeons & Dragons has been released, and it hints that the Dragonlance campaign setting is returning to D&D, following speculation it would be one of the classic campaign settings of 5e. The campaign setting is best known for its novel series, but it was once considered one of the three main settings in D&D, alongside Greyhawk and the Forgotten Realms.
Dragonlance takes place in the world of Krynn. The original Dragonlance trilogy follows the Heroes of the Lance, who rediscover the power of the good gods during a time when evil dragons have returned to the world. The D&D campaign setting saw several shake-ups, such as when the gods disappeared again during the Fifth Age, leaving mortals to discover a new form of magic to combat the dragons.
