Mordenkainen Presents: Multiverse Of Monsters is an upcoming Dungeons & Dragons book that contains over two hundred and fifty monsters for DMs to unleash against their players. These include some of the most powerful creatures in D&D, such as demon lords, elder brains, astral dreadnoughts, and even the overpowered D&D cow enemies that threatened parties in the past.
The D&D multiverse is expanding, which includes the boundaries of reality loosening. In the older editions of D&D, the only way to travel to different planes of existence or alternate campaign settings was through the use of high-level spells or through Spelljammer ships. There were also magical portals, but these contained their own risks, and there was often no guarantee that the party wouldn't end up in the Abyss by accident. Wizards of the Coast has revealed that the D&D multiverse will be expanding even more in upcoming books. Multiverse of Monsters is one step in that direction, as it's filled with creatures that can be dropped into any campaign setting, including homebrew ones developed by the DM.

Multiverse of Monsters contains updated versions of monsters that have appeared in previous 5e books, such as Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes and Volo's Guide to Monsters, as well as including some new entries. The book also contains over thirty playable races that can be used for characters. Multiverse of Monsters has over two hundred and fifty monsters, which is more than any other 5e book, save for the Monster Manual. The book will initially be released as part of the D&D Rules Expansion Gift Set, which will launch on January 25, before receiving a standalone release on May 17.
