With the recent launch of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, gamers seem to have chosen Cyndaquil as the title's most popular starter. Each new installment in the monster collection series lets players choose between three different starter Pokémon, with their starter accompanying the trainer throughout their journey. However, Pokémon Legends: Arceus' Sinnoh region starters are not actually unique to the title, with the trio instead being pulled from different entries of the series' past.
Rather than introducing three brand-new Pokémon as its starters, Pokémon Legends: Arceus reintroduces popular starters from previous games. Introduced in 1999's Pokémon Gold and Silver, the Fire Mouse Pokémon Cyndaquil is known for the iconic fire spewing from its back. Oshawatt, an adorable Water-type who uses a scalchop in battle, was introduced in 2010's Pokémon Black and White. Finally, the dual Flying and Grass-type Rowlet first made its debut in 2016's Pokémon Sun and Moon. While these adorable starters are not original creations, Hisuian evolutions of Pokémon Legends: Arceus' starters will serve to create brand-new variations of the beloved pocket monsters' final forms.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has now officially launched, and gamers appear to prefer Cyndaquil out of the open-world title's three starters.
