With its many intriguing storylines left unresolved by the end of the main narrative, Cyberpunk 2077 has the opportunity to craft DLC better than those seen in The Witcher 3. Despite the disastrous launch of CD Projekt Red's latest title, players that were able to sift through the bugs found the world design, characters, and quests to still be at the level that's expected of the developer. The conclusions to more than a few side quests were open-ended, leaving many to speculate which ones will be revisited in later expansions.
Since that fateful launch in December 2018, CD Projekt Red has been hard at work improving the performance of the current version of Cyberpunk 2077 while also ironing out the upgraded versions of the game for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Those versions are expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022, along with a few pieces of free Cyberpunk 2077 DLC the developer has created as a sort of «thank you» to players for sticking through the rough times. Recently, the team has begun shifting its focus to the major expansions that will likely come out sometime in 2022 and 2023.

The Witcher 3 had similar DLC offerings, most notably the widely beloved expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. In addition to those, CD Projekt Red also released small but appreciated tidbits, like new dismemberment animations for Geralt and treasure hunts for new sets of armor. In total, the developer produced well over 100 hours of content to dig into on top of the base game, which is already a 100-hour experience on its own.
