Lost Ark is shaping up to be one of the biggest games in the industry by beating Cyberpunk 2077 to get into the position of 4th biggest game of all time on Steam. Lost Ark is a recently released MMORPG with hack-and-slash elements, developed by Smilegate and published by Amazon Games. It came out on March 11, 2022 on PC via Steam. The game was originally released in South Korea in 2019 and has just made its way to Europe and the United States. It is worth noting that Lost Ark is completely free-to-play, and paid versions were only an incentive to play a couple of days early and support the project.
In Lost Ark, players choose one of 15 characters divided into 5 classes with between two and four subclasses each. Every class has different playstyle, attacks, and abilities. Bard, for example, is a support mage that fights at a distance, Deathblade is a melee assassin specializing in high damage attacks, and Gunslinger is a ranged damage dealer with a focus on physical damage. These are only three of the several playable characters in-game. Players have a choice of picking a specific character and participating in both PvE (Player vs. Environment) and PvP (Player vs. Player) modes.
