At the end of last year following various holiday sales, the tide began to slowly turn for Cyberpunk 2077. No one has forgotten its disastrous launch, but the number of patches released since then has made it a more stable and fun experience. CD Projekt Red is likely to capitalize on this momentum, and fans know how too. Currently, Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 and Xbox Series X version, as well as Patch 1.5 (rumored to be big), are set to release some time early this year.
Of course, “early this year” is still a huge gap for when this update could release. If a recent discovery is any indication, though, it could be sooner than some initially thought for Cyberpunk 2077.
Bloodborne and Cyberpunk 2077 Figma Delayed
Twitter account PlayStation Game Size is known for digging through the PlayStation network backend and other technical components to find new information. For example, this is how Horizon Forbidden West’s file size was first revealed. Now, the account has dug through the PlayStation Network again and found an alternative cover art (seen below) for Cyberpunk 2077. The logical conclusion, as noted by PlayStation Game Size, is that this is the cover art for the upcoming PS5 version.
It's no huge logical leap, either, that if the cover art for a game icon is there, then it’s likely the full current-gen release of Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t too far behind. It’s worth noting that the Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are likely to release on the same day, so this suggests this for both platforms—not just the source of the discovery. According to PlayStation Game Size, who is familiar with these backend operations, this could suggest Cyberpunk 2077’s next-gen release could happen in mid-February to early March.
