The official Cyberpunk 2077 2.1 patch notes were shared online today, confirming path tracing image quality improvements, a new global illumination system, and much more.
The latest patch for CDPR's open-world RPG, which will go live tomorrow at around 12 PM CET, will bring Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode out of preview status, including several image quality improvements. The patch will also introduce ReSTIR GI, which will further improve path-traced lighting quality in Overdrive mode with no impact on performance.
The new Cyberpunk 2077 patch will also enable NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction in RT Ultra and other RT modes with RT Reflections enabled and fix some ray tracing issues, such as characters' skins having a metallic-like effect, hair not casting shadows, and more. Rounding up the list of PC-specific changes are the introduction of full DualSense controller support and support for Samsung HDR10 + GAMING for NVIDIA GPUs.
For the rest, the Cyberpunk 2077 2.1 patch will bring tons of gameplay additions and improvements. Among them are a fully functional metro system, reworked boss battles, including the epic confrontation with Adam Smasher, gangs taking a more aggressive approach toward V, and more. The full notes can be found here.
