One major gameplay overhaul is that, like Crusader Kings 2's minor titles, there are now new court positions that fall outside your main councillors. Now there are a lot more court positions than just your council, so here's a breakdown of what the main ones do.
There are dozens of new court positions in the Royal Court expansion. These are specialist positions, outside of your council, who also provide various bonuses to you and your realm depending on their Aptitude and relevant trait skills for that job.
There are culture and religion-specific ones (such as Keeper of the Swans - available to kings with English culture and a position in real life that exists to this day), but in terms of the most important ones you’ll want to be hiring:
