Apple iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro sales kicked off on September 16 in India. But this Kerala man traveled all the way to Dubai to get the new iPhone 14 Pro ahead of the sale in India. Dheeraj Palliyil, a Kochi-based businessman, showed his crazy love for the iPhone 14 Pro when he travelled all the way to Dubai, just a day before the sale in India! Not just that, he even waited in a long queue to buy the latest iPhone 14 Pro. He finally snagged one from a premium reseller in Mirdif City Centre in Dubai. This way, he became one of the first, if not the first, Indian buyers of the iPhone 14.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time Palliyil did something unusual! As per a Times of India report, this is the fourth consecutive time Palliyil travelled to Dubai to purchase a new edition of the iPhone on the first day of the sale. He shared that he has spent around Rs. 40000 on ticket bookings and Visa fee to fly to Dubai and get the new iPhone 14 Pro. His colour choice? Deep Purple tone. He got the 512 GB storage variant which costs around Rs. 129000.
For the first time, Palliyil had travelled to Dubai back in 2017 to get the iPhone 8. Thereafter he did the same to purchase iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
The iPhone 14 Pro is the most highlighted smartphone of this year with major upgrades in chip, design, performance, and features.
Dheeraj told ToI, "I was also the first customer when the sale of iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, started in Dubai"
Quite a pricey passion, surely! Worth it? For Dheeraj, it definitely is.
