As far as controversial characters go in Star Wars, Jar Jar Binks takes the cake, even though he only had a minor role in the prequel trilogy. As such, it’s not surprising that the idea of the most hated character saving the life of The Mandalorian’s Grogu, one of Star Wars’ most highly revered characters in recent history, would be met with resistance.
While Jar Jar Binks hasn’t been seen in the Star Wars universe’s onscreen timeline since the end of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, theories about the divisive character have still abounded. The most popular fan theory about Jar Jar Binks poses that he’s secretly a Sith Lord, which has become a source of fun for those who find Star Wars’ Gungan character to be the oddest part of the prequels. The Darth Jar Jar Star Wars theory claims that because he appears to have physical and mental abilities associated with Force users, encouraged Anakin’s attraction to Padmé, and notably supported Palpatine’s rise to power, he may have secretly been a Sith Lord in Palpatine’s inner circle. Of course, Jar Jar Binks saving Grogu from Order 66 would oppose this fan-favorite theory.
