A talented artist and The Legend of Zelda fan has produced a beautiful piece of fanart using Copic markers, reimagining a young, pink-haired Link in a cute, cartoon art style. Although usually depicted as brown or blond, Link's hair took on the eye-catching color for 1991's A Link to the Past, making the depiction stand out against both older and newer versions of the well-loved character.
Copic markers are a notable brand of artistic marker pens. There are over 350 different color markers available from the Japanese company, and as a result of them being alcohol-based, they produce vibrant colors while also being translucent. Additionally, the ink can be built up in layers and blended, creating a vivid spectrum of color. Because of this, an artist can utilize practically any shade or hue in order to create stunning pieces of art.

The possibilities presented by Copic markers are demonstrated brilliantly by Twitter user MorganLuthi in his new Legend of Zelda fanart. The artwork recently posted by MorganLuthi actually consists of two related images. The first image is an incredible scene of Link exploring an overgrown forest, picked out in dozens of shades of green and brown. Link can be seen walking over an immense fallen tree trunk as an ominous structure looms in the background. Considering Link's pink hair in this scene, this appears to be MorganLuthi's depiction of the Skull Woods dungeon from A Link to the Past. Curiously enough, Nintendo has never provided an official reason for why Link has pink hair in this game, although this hasn't stopped fans from speculating.
