Set photos from the upcoming Percy Jackson TV series reveal what Camp Half-Blood's armor will look like. The show is based on the massively popular book series Percy Jackson & The Olympians, written by Rick Riordan. After two mildly successful film adaptations, it was announced in May 2020 that the series would be getting a TV adaptation exclusively on Disney+. Filming began on June 2, 2022 in Vancouver, and Riordan has estimated that Percy Jackson will be released in early 2024.
Though Percy Jackson was adapted into two franchise films, The Lightning Thief in 2010 and Sea of Monsters in 2013, reception was incredibly mixed. Long-time fans of the original book series heavily criticized the films as they deviated significantly from the source material, and Riordan himself admitted to having little to no creative control on the films. However, in the new Percy Jackson TV series, Riordan is fully involved in the process, and has praised early footage of the show. While nothing has been officially revealed, a few peeks have emerged. For example, behind the scenes photos have already teased the set for Camp Half-Blood, a key location from the books. Camp Half-Blood is where Percy and his fellow demigods train and often live, so there has been a lot of anticipation surrounding the eventual reveal of the show's version.
