Even though Cody Rhodes has left AEW to return to WWE, it sounds as if he's still staying in touch with MJF and his family. MJF was nearly inseparable from The American Nightmare during the budding days of the brand, and the former turning on the latter in 2019 is what catapulted him to the level of stardom he's experiencing today. Both men are at the forefront of their respective brands, making their continued friendship even more interesting.
Rhodes had to leave WWE to achieve his full potential, but since he returned at WrestleMania 38, he's been positioned just as well as anyone inside of the company outside of Roman Reigns. He's beaten Seth Rollins in two consecutive premium live event contests, and will likely go for the third at the upcoming Hell In A Cell major even next month. He's front and center in the advertising, and it's been reported that Reigns won't defend his unified title on the show. Meanwhile, MJF has wrapped up his feud with CM Punk and is engaged in another outstanding run with his former bodyguard, Wardlow.

In a recent interview on Rasslin’ with Brandon F. Walker, MJF shared this hilarious anecdote about Rhodes. «We still talk sometimes to this day. Cody Rhodes is a sweetheart,» Friedman said. «He texted my parents and offered them tickets for the Long Island show for SmackDown. They couldn’t go.
