The Last Faith received a new gameplay trailer today during the Future Games Show. This new 2D gothic action-adventure game comes from publisher Playstack (which has published games like Mortal Shell) and developer Kumi Souls Games. The Last Faith is releasing on PC later this year.
The game is described as a “dark, gothic alliance of Metroidvania and Soulslike.” It was originally revealed as a Kickstarter project back in 2020, and will be the debut game of the London-based independent studio Kumi Souls Games.

The Last Faith places us into the shoes of a character named Eric. In the game, Eric awakens in a dark and ravaged world without any recent memories. His mind is slowly deteriorating, and he must find a solution to this problem by going on a harrowing adventure that involves crossing paths with mysterious religious forces.
The Last Faith blends Metroidvania and Soulslike gameplay. Exploration will provide players with enough freedom to seek out flexible approaches to gameplay. The combat is also described as merciless and precise. During fights, you will have plenty of custom executions to enact on enemies. Ample melee weapons, firearms, and spells can be mixed and matched to find a playstyle that suits you.
It’s also worth noting that it all looks beautiful in motion. Dark forests, snowy mountains, and imposing cities have been hand-drawn by the development team. The Last Faith trailer showcases dark locales and a promising soundtrack, which could prove to be strong selling points when it launches later this year.
