The first collaborative pay-per-view between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling has a new change to its lineup. An injury to Tomohiro Ishii, one of Forbidden Door’s competitors, has altered the lineup for the crossover event that is already without some of the sport’s biggest competitors. Ishii will be replaced in his match by the man he defeated to qualify for Forbidden Door.
AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door’s card is stacked with 10 matches, six of which are for championships. NJPW will have its IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, IWGP United States Championship, and IWGP Tag Team Championship on the line. AEW will defend its Women’s World Championship, crown an interim World Champion, and an inaugural All-Atlantic Champion. The collaborative event hopes to become an annual occurrence between the two promotions.
