Co-creator Jon Hurwitz says the Cobra Kai season 5 finale is absolutely wild. Cobra Kai season 4 stuck with the show’s winning formula mixing Karate Kid nostalgia with generational storytelling and of course a healthy dose of karate action. The result was a season that currently holds a 95% critics score and 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Besides scoring highly with critics and fans alike, Cobra Kai season 4 also left the show with a lot of issues to resolve in season 5. The biggest cliffhanger of course was the arrest of Kreese after he was framed by Terry Silver for assaulting Stingray, leaving Silver in charge of an expanding Cobra Kai. The season 4 finale also saw Miguel suddenly leaving for Mexico City to search for his biological father. The episode also featured the surprise return of Chozen, whom Daniel hopes to enlist as an ally in his on-going battle with Silver. Johnny Lawrence and Robby were also left in an interesting place after Robby’s mentoring efforts with Kenny blew up in his face.

It remains to be seen how Cobra Kai season 5 ultimately resolves all these storylines left from season 4. But it seems the season 5 finale will be a particularly dramatic affair, if a new tease by co-creator Hurwitz is any indication. Talking with fans on Twitter, Hurwitz promised “The Season 5 finale is absolutely wild and unlike any of our other finales. We all love it.” Asked by one Twitter user to sum up season 5 in one word, Hurwitz replied “Unpredictable.”
It’s of course bold to call Cobra Kai season 5’s finale wild given how crazy some of the show’s prior season finales turned out to be. Season 2 actually set the trend of really dramatic finales
