As shown off in the teaser trailer for Phantom Liberty, the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion is set for a release date some time in 2023. It will feature a story taking place before the end of Cyberpunk 2077's main narrative, with V making some sort of deal with a mysterious figure. Not much else is known about what the expansion will look like, but with a vague 2023 release date, there is plenty of time to learn about what new content will be coming to Cyberpunk 2077.

As spotted in the YouTube comments of the DLC teaser, the Cyberpunk 2077 channel responded to a fan stating they hoped to see more expansions in the future by commenting «as for the future, Phantom Liberty is the only planned expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.» This suggests that CD Projekt Red may be planning Phantom Liberty as the first and last expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, meaning that there won't be any more big content updates in the future.
This news will likely disappoint many, especially those who played through the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions of CD Projekt Red's previous title, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This may have led fans to believe that Cyberpunk 2077 would follow a similar DLC pattern,
