Star Wars fans have been flooded with Grogu merch ever since Baby Yoda debuted in The Mandalorian. That won't be letting up as season three nears, and this week official Grogu Tamagotchis have been revealed by Bandai Namco. They don't have a release date, but pre-orders are starting soon.
The Grogu Tamagotchi will be available in two different forms, and while the creature you take care of is the same on both, the exterior differs slightly. There's the regular blue version, and what will presumably be a slightly more expensive Using The Force edition. Orange instead of blue and a silicone Grogu face sitting neatly on top of it. How much each will cost hasn't been revealed, nor has the release date, though the promo image has a 2023 date in the bottom corner.

The Grogu Tamagotchi is actually the second Star Wars-themed cyberpet from Bandai Namco. It follows in the footsteps of the R2-D2 Tamagotchi that launched last year. Even though the gadgets are an invention from the 1990s that continue to pop up every now and again, today's Star Wars ones are a little more advanced than the ones available 25 years ago.
How you care for your Grogu will determine what the little guy becomes. There are 12 different appearances your Baby Yoda can grow into, three of which will be kept under wraps and users will need to figure out how to unlock them on their own. You'll be able to feed your Grogu macarons and squid chowder, but too much of the latter will result in the squid jumping on the poor little guy, so be careful.
The Tamagotchis also include two mini-games that can be played at any time, and others games that can be unlocked with various outcomes. Pre-orders will start on Amazon
