Cosmo Machia has launched a Campfire crowdfunding campaign to release shoot ’em up game Castle of Shikigami III for PC via Steam.
Castle of Shikigami III first launched for arcade in February 2006 in Japan, followed by PC on September 29, 2006, and Xbox 360 and Wii on December 13, 2007. The Wii version was the only version to launch in the west, debuting on May 13, 2008 in North America.
Cosmo Machia is seeking three million yen (approx. $19,495 USD) in funding to release the PC version via Steam, with a 15 million yen (approx. $97,474 USD) stretch goal to also port the game to “the latest console(s).” If the campaign achieves a stretch goal of 20 million yen (approx. $130,054 USD), it will port the entire Castle of Shikigami series to console(s), starting with the original Castle of Shikigami already available for PC via Steam.
According to the campaign page, Cosmo Machia has received materials from original developer Alfa System, and has already begun work on porting the arcade version to PC.
