Resident Evil developer Capcom has increased the base salary of employees in Japan by 30 percent to "promote strategic investment in its personnel."
The Japanese company said the revised compensation system will be implemented as of April 1, 2022, and will be ushered in alongside a new bonus system that's more closely linked with business performance.
"Beginning with the 2022 fiscal year, Capcom will partially revise its compensation system. This will consist of an average base salary increase of 30 percent (includes the portion for pay raises) and the introduction of a bonus system more closely linked to the company’s business performance," wrote the company on its investor relations site.
"Further, Capcom will continue to enhance its employee performance review and training systems going forward."
Capcom also outlined plans to reorganize its HR department around four specialised departmental operations, and claims the new structure help it "provide a comfortable workplace environment for employees."
The company is currently searching for a chief human resources officer to oversee the new-look HR division.
