Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is bringing back the fan favorite Gunfight mode as part of its Season 3 content, as recently confirmed by Activision. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is live now, and while there have been some issues since the update went live, it seems many fans have generally been enjoying the new content.
With Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 having just gone live, it will be quite some time before Season 3 rolls around. A sizable mid-season update is expected to drop before then, and while full details on what that will entail are unavailable at the time of this writing, it will include a brand-new multiplayer map. New maps are also expected with the Season 3 update, along with some fresh game modes for fans to look forward to in both MW2 and Warzone 2.

The long-awaited return of Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2 will likely be of interest to most base game MW2 players, as the 2v2 game mode was hugely popular when it debuted in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. Many were surprised when Gunfight wasn't available in Modern Warfare 2 at launch, but it will soon be available to Call of Duty fans yet again, with new maps coming in each season of the game. As far as Warzone goes, players can look forward to the return of Plunder, as well as a Ranked version of the battle royale.
Further specifics on the game modes are not available just yet, but it will be interesting to see how exactly Gunfight is incorporated into Modern Warfare 2.
