A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player recently used a glitch to send Link’s trusty horse flying off into the skies of Hyrule. Players are still discovering crazy glitches and secrets five years after BOTW's release on the Nintendo Switch, with the game’s developers even admitting they left some of the strangest of BOTW’s technical quirks in the finished product on purpose to better foster the sense of discovery as players explore the open-world landscape of Hyrule.
Players have used BOTW’s many interesting glitches to pull off many impressive feats, such as taking down Hyrule’s colossal Guardians with time-freezing arrows and destroying Breath of the Wild’s seemingly indestructible steel treasure chests to see the rare loot inside. These BOTW glitches can even be used to defy the game’s laws of physics, causing reptilian Lizalfos to spin uncontrollably in a single spot and letting Guardians soar into the air after Link uses his trusty Cryonis rune to upend them with a well-placed ice pillar. Link himself can also go airborne by performing a certain series of button presses on top of an enemy or NPC thanks to BOTW’s “Bullet Time” glitch.

Link's not the only one who can take to the skies either, as Reddit user Jhent Metal Boxer recently sent a horse blasting into the sky during a session of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As shown in a brief gameplay video posted to r/botw a few days ago, Jhent Metal Boxer starts this wild stunt by conjuring an ice pillar underneath the horse with the Cryonis rune, then quickly jumps on top of it while riding Link’s sled-like Surf Shield.
