Warning: spoilers ahead for Boruto chapter 70!
The Boruto villain Eida possesses the means to address Naruto's handling of Sakura, but while the most effective way for this to happen is to show how she interacts with Boruto's brother Kawaki, Kawaki's own powers are making it impossible.
Many Naruto fans have critiqued its handling of female characters across the 700-chapter series. Although a powerful ninja, constant focus was given to how Sakura would throw herself as Sasuke, only for him to brush her aside. Her persistence, while a display of unwavering loyalty, is widely seen as lessening the character's sense of agency while playing into sexist stereotypes. The fact that she later marries Sasuke despite him never changing his ways is often held up as a stain on the series.

In contrast, Boruto's treatment of Eida is seen as an answer to Sasuke's journey, as she is written such that her feelings and sensuality empower her character, even as she has become fascinated with Kawaki. However, a second chance at Eida and Sasuke's relationship can only come once Eida actually interacts with Kawaki, to which his powers are proving a major stumbling block. In chapter 70, Eida had a chance to finally meet him after she and Code arrive in Konoha to force Amado to unlock Code's true power. But, ironically, Eida and Code are forced to flee because Kawaki is on his way to their location and can cancel out Code's method of transportation, trapping them in enemy territory. Although Eida wants to meet Kawaki, she must leave because him being there would put her and Code at a major disadvantage.
