Bandai Namco’s eagerly awaited free-to-play action RPG Blue Protocol still isn’t out in the West, but a mobile version is reportedly already in development. Speaking to “people familiar with the matter,” Bloomberg reports that Tencent will publish and develop the same.
It’s allegedly assembled a team for development and will distribute the game globally, though a release date is currently unknown. When contacted for an official statement, Bandai Namco didn’t comment, and Tencent’s representatives did not respond. An announcement could be coming at the Tokyo Game Show 2023, especially since it’s confirmed to appear alongside other Bandai Namco titles.
Blue Protocol launches in 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC in the West, with Amazon Games publishing. It will launch with five classes – Blade Warden, Keen Strider, Twin Striker, Foe Breaker and Spell Weaver. Players can also utilize mounts and solo most of the content, though there are end-game quests which require other players. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
