The remake for Silent Hill 2 was announced late last year but has seen little more information since, leaving fans clamoring for any details about the beloved IP.
It was widely reported last week that Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno told PAP Business that the development of Silent Hill 2 was likely further along than fans expected. He was quoted as having said that Silent Hill 2 «is technically ready» and «close» to completion. Babieno apparently continued by highlighting that distribution and promotion of the title would not be handled by Bloober, a statement that was inferred to suggest Bloober may feel prepared for a release date announcement. But Bloober Team has now publicly come out to dispute the rumors.

In a statement posted to the studio's official Twitter account, Bloober began by asserting that it does not typically comment on rumors but felt the need to do so here. They blame «inaccurate translations» for the recent claims that have allegedly been taken out of context. The first of two corrections declares that any information regarding «sales forecasts» were not about specific titles, but rather a broad estimate for the «type of games [Bloober Team] will be focusing on in the future.»
