Warning! Spoilers ahead for Black Clover chapter 331!
The revelation that the Wizard King Julius Novachrono has actually been Lucius Zogratis in disguise all along is quite troubling, but now his past actions involving Asta in Black Clover create a terrifying impression that Lucius most likely has use for him.
Before the shocking twist, Julius represented a great many positive things for Asta. Julius was the strongest and most capable mage of the Clover Kingdom, and the fact that such a man didn't discriminate against Asta for being born magicless and clearly respected and valued his anti-magic abilities validated Asta's existence as a mage more than anyone else. (It can be argued that it even rivaled that of Yami's when the captain accepted the young boy into the Black Bulls.) The culmination of Julius' validation undoubtedly reached its apex when the Wizard King went out of his way to postpone Asta's execution for wielding the power of devils in chapter 219. Julius had not only found an impossible solution but had the foresight to assign two nobles with the task of delivering the message to navigate the complex politics of the kingdom, knowing that nobility had a certain sway over every proceeding.

But now that chapter 331 of Black Clover has revealed that Julius is actually a Zogratis sibling whose brothers and sisters led the evil group known as the Dark Triad, it makes fans wonder why Lucius has been showing Asta such leniency by actively keeping him alive. Past events definitely create a very ominous impression that Lucius must have some use for Asta — or even for his devil partner and friend Liebe who had been exiled from the underworld. As
