The Jason Sudeikis Blue Beetle casting rumor has been debunked. One of Warner Bros.' upcoming DC adaptations for the big-screen and directed by Angel Manuel Soto, the Blue Beetle movie story centers around Jaime Reyes becoming the titular teenage superhero after he one day discovers an alien scarab. Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña will bring the hero to life, with Blue Beetle set to be the first major superhero movie led by a Latino character from a Latino filmmaker.
Something that is becoming standard for the comic book movie genre is the endless cycle of speculation. Whether it be storylines, costumes, or even casting choices, the DCEU isn't immune to getting inundated with rumors, which sometimes create a false narrative for what WB is actually doing with their movies. Recently, there were rumblings that Ted Lasso star Sudeikis was set to play Ted Kord in Blue Beetle. A casting call had gone out that was looking for a body double with a picture that had features similar to Sudeikis.

It didn't take long before the casting call gained some major attention online, while nothing was confirmed by Warner Bros. or DC Films. However, the Sudeikis Blue Beetle casting rumor has now been debunked.
