Even though Black Adam is one of the strongest characters in the DC Universe, he still has a major weakness, though luckily for him his nemesis Shazam has not figured out what it is. The never-ending battles between superheroes and their arch nemeses is a theme that runs rampant in comics. Shazam has Black Adam, Batman has the Joker, Daredevil has Kingpin, and the list goes on. Even though heroes usually come out on top in their battles against their foes, that does not stop their villains from coming back time and time again. If Shazam were to learn the secret weakness of Black Adam, he might have a chance of breaking this cycle.
The 2008 comic Black Adam: The Dark Age by Peter Tomasi, Doug Mahnke, and Christian Alamy tells the dark story of a de-powered Teth Adam who will stop at nothing to bring his wife, Isis, back from the dead. Taking place after the events of DC's World War III, Adam is being hunted down by heroes and the world's governments alike, and in the final issue of the miniseries, he is shot with a bullet tipped with a piece of the Rock of Eternity.

To Black Adam's and readers' surprise, the bullet takes him down and affects him like a normal bullet would affect a human. While the villain tries to wrap his head around what has just happened to him, military units close in around him. This weakness is appropriate for a DC Comics character. The Rock of Eternity serves as the lair of the wizard Shazam and is the source of Billy Batson's and Black Adam's powers. Fragments of the Rock are extremely rare materials in the DC Universe.
