Apple MacBook Air laptop has received a monumental makeover and it is the biggest one in a over a decade. So, what's new? Well, for starters design, colors and above all, the much faster M2 processor. The laptop was unveiled at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday to the global audience. Apple WWDC 2022 was supposed to be focused solely on software updates for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and other devices, but Apple has a habit of sneaking in hardware launches into the event too.
MacBook Air has a long history and it goes all the way back to the legendary co-founder Steve Jobs. It was Jobs who first launched it way back in 2008. Needless to say, Jobs, whose penchant for theatrics was legendary, caught everyone's attention when he pulled the ultrathin laptop out of an envelope- a manila envelope.
Going back to the laptop design, then it must BE said that it looks similar to the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro launched at the end of 2021. The MacBook Air has a 13.6-inch screen, up from 13.3 inches on the previous model, and a 1080p camera.
That was on THE outside. As far as inside is concerned, then the updated MacBook Air packs an M2 processor. according to Apple, the latest version will be 40% faster.
The new M2 chip will not be restricted to the MacBook Air, it will also be incorporated into the 13-inch MacBook Pro, Apple revealed.
Pricing? As far as the new MacBook Air model is concerned, it will be priced at a starting $1,199. The MacBook Pro price starts at $1,299.
