Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has its hotly anticipated September update, which adds some much-needed features to the game.
Saber Interactive’s third-person action shooter launched to record-breaking success last month, but it lacked a number of crucial features including ultrawide support on PC and private PvE lobbies in Operations Mode.
With patch 3.0, both of those features are now in the game, alongside a Sparring Arena for the Battlebarge and the option to replace custom presets with predefined ones.
The new Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge is available while in Operations or Eternal War mode, and is accessible directly from the Launch Bay. Once there, you'll be given your weapons and grenades as if you were in a PvP match and allowed to spar it out with your Battle-Brothers ahead of your next mission.
There's also a sweeping balance pass addressing everything from the difficulty of the super annoying Tzaangors with Shield to the underpowered Power Fist. Check out the patch notes below.
IGN recently interviewed Saber chief creative officer Tim Willits about the boost he expects the PS5 Pro will give the game, and how the breakout success of Space Marine 2 has “changed everything” for the studio.
Meanwhile, Warhammer 40,000 superfan Henry Cavill has been playing Space Marine 2 and delivered his verdict, and we also have details on what fans can expect from Space Marine 2’s seasonal post-launch content model. Season 2 runs from October until the end of 2024, and includes a new Operations map, a new enemy, a harder difficulty level, a new weapon, and various other improvements.
