AMC unveils a new Better Call Saul season 6 trailer ominously teasing a happy ending for the show. Created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, the Breaking Bad prequel series primarily functions as an origin story for Bob Odenkirk's titular lawyer. Over five and a half seasons, Better Call Saul has chronicled Jimmy McGill's slow descent from an earnest court-appointed lawyer to the unscrupulous criminal defense attorney eventually introduced in Breaking Bad season 2: Saul Goodman.
Better Call Saul also explores Jimmy's connections to the Juarez drug cartel, as well as retired police officer Mike Ehrmantraut, who undergoes a similar moral decline as he becomes right-hand man to the Los Pollos Hermanos owner and narcotics distributor Gus Fring. Introduced in Better Call Saul season 4 as the acting head of the Salamanca family after Hector suffers a stroke, Lalo has served as Gus' main adversary in the Cartel ever since. At the heart of Better Call Saul is the relationship between Jimmy and his loyal confidante Kim Wexler. In recent seasons, the two lawyers have gone further and further down a dark and irredeemable path, culminating in a devious plot to ruin fellow attorney Howard Hamlin that results in deadly unintended consequences in the Better Call Saul mid-season 6 finale.
