The switch from the Bethesda PC Launcher to Steam isn't going as smoothly as many would have hoped. Earlier this year, Bethesda announced the closure of its game launcher and that it was moving all of their games to Steam instead. All of the games and wallets will switch to Steam, so players can continue to play their games without having to purchase them again.
The Bethesda Launcher was released in 2016 amongst many other similar projects. Over the last six years, many games have been released on the platform, but have also been available elsewhere for purchase. When the announcement was made fans were concerned about what that meant for their purchases and saves, but according to the Bethesda website users of the launchers need to make sure that they migrate their games and saves over to Steam themselves since they will be unplayable on the platform. There are extensive FAQs on Bethesda's website on how to do so, and the publisher is doing a thorough job at making sure everyone is aware of what needs to be done. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean the switch has been smooth for everyone.

Rock Paper Shotgun reported on some of the issues that players are having while trying to move over their games and saves to Steam. Players were receiving an error message when trying to link their Bethesda Launcher account with their Steam account. Others were not able to download their DLC for various games, like Rage 2 and Doom Eternal. The worst issue that was seen was that one player transferred over their Rage 2 Deluxe Edition but only got the Standard Issue of the game on their Steam account.
