As Batwoman season 3 reaches its end, the creative team behind the show addresses the season 4 renewal status. Since the global COVID-19 pandemic began, TV and film have had their entire schedules scrambled, which includes airtimes, production, and more. For The CW's Arrowverse, the DC franchise has had their regular flow tinkered with, as most of their shows usually begin to wrap their ongoing seasons in May. However, since 2020, many of the shows have had to adjust, whether that be by having fewer episodes or putting a pause on the annual crossovers.
Around this time of the year, The CW has usually given their fans a heads-up as they hand out early renewals to most of their shows. However, with or without a pandemic, this year has been different, due to the fact that the WarnerMedia/ViacomCBS-owned network is currently for sale. Even though there have been no updates since January, the shake-up is having an effect on The CW's strategy for the next season. Several shows, including Batwoman, are getting ready to either wrap their ongoing seasons or have already aired their finales, while their fates remain up in the air. Batwoman season 3 and Legends of Tomorrow season 7 are set to end this Wednesday, March 2, and right now, fans have no idea if either Arrowverse dramas will be back next year.
