After an extensive waiting period, Batwoman season 4 will not be happening, confirms showrunner Caroline Dries. One of the Arrowverse shows to have kept the franchise alive over the last few years is Batwoman, which got a creative retool during season 2 after Ruby Rose, who played Kate Kane, exited the series after one season. At the start of Batwoman season 2, Javicia Leslie took over as the lead, with the creative team introducing the new character Ryan Wilder to take over Kate's legacy.
Batwoman season 3 came to a conclusion earlier this year, as it is one of the Arrowverse shows to run with fewer episodes. While The CW tends to renew most of their DC TV shows, this year was quite different. At the start of 2022, the news broke that WarnerMedia and Paramount, who co-own The CW, were putting the network up for sale. Because of this, it delayed The CW's renewal and cancelation process, leaving many shows' fates up in the air, including Batwoman.

After waiting almost two months to learn its future, The CW has made its decision on Batwoman. Caroline Dries, showrunner and creator of the DC drama, broke the news today on Twitter that the network has informed theBatwoman crew that season 4 will not be happening, canceling the series after three seasons. Batwoman was one of the three DC TV shows that were on the bubble, as Legends of Tomorrow and Naomi have yet to learn if they will get another season.
