Battlefield 2042's massive new 4.0 update is scheduled to arrive April 19, and ahead of that, DICE has published the full patch notes. There are lots of changes coming, including VoIP functionality for parties and squads, improvements for the end-of-round menu, and big changes for weapon attachments, along with a long list of bug fixes as well. There are 400+ changes in all.
For weapon attachments, DICE said its goal was to help make them feel more «unique.» In the current setup, some attachments felt «too similar,» making it difficult for players to understand and appreciate the specific unique attributes of each. «We encourage you to experiment with the refreshed weapon attachments to see how they feel after the update,» DICE said.

As for the scoreboard changes, the new UI for this will now display at the end-of-round screen as well as displaying in-game. The addition of VoIP is pretty straightforward--it's now available for Parties and Squads. This was one of many features that players have called for since launch.
Some of the other general changes to Battlefield 2042 include updates to kill assists for better «consistency and clarity,» while EMP grenades will now earn you assists more reliably. The update also fixes an issue that could cause EMP effects to persist on screen for too long, while there is now airplane and helicopter sensitivity settings available from Options to help pilots traverse the skies more easily.
