.Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, the latest entry in the long running Assassin’s Creed franchise, allows players to virtually step into the shoes of iconic series protagonists such as AC II’s Ezio, AC III’s Connor, and Odyssey’s Kassandra.
Out now on the Meta Quest 2 and 3, players must sabotage the plans of Abstergo, who have discovered a new way of retrieving powerful lost artifacts. Features familiar to the series return, often with a new VR twist.
Players can parkour across a number of historically-accurate maps from Ezio’s Italian Renaissance, Kassandra’s Athens under the ‘Thirty Tyrants,’ and Connor’s American Revolution. All with 360 degree navigation and the ability to climb just about anywhere.
In combat, players can use weapons such as the hidden blade, tomahawk, bows, crossbows and more to defeat their foes. Combat is dynamic and allows for the use of real world motions to block, parry, and counter-attack.
When it comes to stealth, players can utilize the series’ notable social stealth to hide amongst crowds, throw objects to distract enemies, and, of course, unleash powerful air assassinations upon foes.
Ubisoft has also taken steps to ensure the game is as comfortable as it is exciting, adding settings for peripheral vision blocking, teleportation and more to address issues with nausea, vertigo, and fear of heights.
