A few hours ago, a Reddit user claiming to be a GameStop employee shared convincing evidence that the big retailer has Assassin's Creed Mirage pegged for an August release.
As you can see below, the photo clearly shows a GameStop PC featuring marketing for upcoming games, such as Street Fighter 6, Diablo IV, Final Fantasy XVI, Pikmin 4, Hogwarts Legacy (the Switch version), Madden NFL 24, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Skull and Bones, and Assassin's Creed Mirage.
It would actually have been interesting to learn more about the release month of Skull and Bones, too, but the snapshot cuts off just before sharing that information. Anyway, it's not the first time we've heard that Assassin's Creed Mirage could be released in August 2023.
Renowned insider Tom Henderson first shared that information in early December 2022. At the time, Henderson also said the game was originally scheduled to launch earlier in the year but had since received a couple of delays.
That said, Ubisoft leaker ScriptLeaksR6 reported another likely delay on the way. According to ScriptLeaksR6, Mirage is now targeting Q2 2024, and The Crew: Motorfest has also been delayed at Ubisoft.
We'll know either way very soon. The publisher is hosting a Ubisoft Forward conference from Los Angeles on June 12th. It is expected to share information about games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, XDefiant, and Assassin's Creed Mirage.
Originally, Mirage was supposed to be an Assassin's Creed Valhalla expansion before becoming a standalone game. Set several years before Valhalla, it features a coming-of-age journey for Basim Ibn Ishaq, who slowly morphs from street thief to proud member of the Brotherhood of Assassins.
